CAROCCI FABER

Edited by Maria Dal Pra Ponticelli

Social Work Dictionary

Pages: 816

Euros: 89,00

ISBN: 88-7466-179-7

For AIDOSS partners: 25% discount (from € 89,00 to € 66,75)

The Book

For many years the need was being felt for making the point on what was elaborated in sixty years of social work in Italy. Having reached some maturity in the process of building up their own thought, the scientific community dealing with AIDOSS (Associazione docenti di servizio sociale) presents this work, filling a gap which was felt by many parts.

The logic which drove the work was that one of putting together voices making part of the historical side of the social worker profession with much more recent and new voices, intended to show the new orientations of social work, at the light of the latest social and political developments, too. The choice of these voices mirrors the individuation of some fundamental thematic areas of social work: epistemology, theory and method, principles and basis, deontology, historical evolution, social policy, organizational system.

A specific work, then, but not an autoreferential one, open to similar subjects contributing to the enhancement and the better definition of social work itself.

The Editor

Maria Dal Pra Ponticelli is associated professor of Methods and techniques of Social Work at Università di Siena.

In the direction committee of the work were involved all lecturers amongst the most representative and authoritative of the sector: Annamaria Campanini, Elisabetta Neve, Elena Allegri, Raffaello Maggian, Milena Canevini, Silvana Tonon Giraldo, Luigi Gui, Aurelia Tassinari.
